Vấn đề Campuchia trong quan hệ Australia - Việt Nam

Abstract


Xung đột Campuchia (1978-1991) đã thu hút nhiều sự chú ý trong những năm 90 vì vấn đề này liên quan đến các cường quốc khu vực và cả các bên quan trọng khác. Là một cường quốc tầm trung truyền thống, Australia đã có những đóng góp quan trọng nhằm tìm kiếm giải pháp cho vấn đề Campuchia. Vai trò của Australia trong việc giải quyết xung đột còn bao gồm các hoạt động hợp tác với Việt Nam. Bài viết đặt mục tiêu làm rõ tầm nhìn của Australia đối với Đông Nam Á và vai trò tiên phong của Australia trong quản lý xung đột khu vực. Cụ thể, tác giả chứng minh rằng Australia, khi nỗ lực cho một nền hòa bình ở Campuchia, đã tích cực tìm kiếm các kênh ngoại giao để xây dựng mối quan hệ chặt chẽ hơn với Việt Nam. Nghiên cứu cũng chỉ ra rằng quan hệ Australia - Việt đã trải qua những giai đoạn thật sự khó khăn để đưa quan hệ hai nước phát triển trên tinh thần tin tưởng lẫn nhau và hợp tác chặt chẽ.
